In order to obtain a Fire Fighter position, you must obtain SP-100 training from an MNR (Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources) accredited SP100 Forest Fire Training Agency. Specialty Services Agency has been an accredited MNR Training Agency for twenty seven years.
MNR's projected hiring dates for new fire fighters is between the end of April and the first part of May in the West Region. You are urged to submit your applications for employment to the MNR as soon as possible. In addition the two (2) Contract Fire Crew Companies must have their rosters filled by May 15th.

You must arrive with CSA approved safety toed boots to start the course in addition to appropriate clothing for class and field exercises based on the current weather conditions, i.e., rain suit and warm jacket. Specialty Services Agency will issue you the balance of the protective equipment at the start of the course. Instructors and students must wear this safety equipment on all field exercises. The training to use this equipment consistently is a critical component of the course and fireline safety in the future.
